  • Sam Seltzer began working as a young boy delivering meat packages on the streetcars of Montreal, Canada.  The butcher who owned the shop he worked in eventually became his father in law, as he married Dora, the man’s daughter, in 1923.  Soon after, Sam opened a butcher shop of his own, which became deservedly famous in Montreal for more t

  • Sam Seltzer began working as a young boy delivering meat packages on the streetcars of Montreal, Canada.  The butcher who owned the shop he worked in eventually became his father in law, as he married Dora, the man’s daughter, in 1923.  Soon after, Sam opened a butcher shop of his own, which became deservedly famous in Montreal for more than 60 years and laid the foundation for customer service within the Seltzer family for following generations to come.

  • Sam had two sons, Nelson and Norman, who took over the family business and lifted it to even greater notoriety.  Serving the finest cuts of aged and marbled beef to restaurants, hotels and private clubs of Montreal while carrying on his father’s tradition of serving the locals the same quality beef.  In 1952, Nelson married Carol and toge

  •  Harold Began working in the family butcher shop at the age of 8 for $.75/hour.  He used the lessons taught by his parents and the work ethic he learned in the shop to pursue degrees in Commercial Law and practiced for 15 years.  In 1995, he moved to Tampa, FL to launch a chain of steakhouses in honor of his late grandfather, Sam Seltzer’

  •  Harold Began working in the family butcher shop at the age of 8 for $.75/hour.  He used the lessons taught by his parents and the work ethic he learned in the shop to pursue degrees in Commercial Law and practiced for 15 years.  In 1995, he moved to Tampa, FL to launch a chain of steakhouses in honor of his late grandfather, Sam Seltzer’s Steakhouse.  The concept was a hit with all of Western Florida, with as many as 13 locations at the peak of success.  In 2005, Harold recused himself from the business to pursue other ventures.  Upon hearing of the closing of Sam Seltzer’s Steakhouse, Harold remembered all of his dedicated staff and set out to help re-employ as many as possible.  In 2010, The Original Harold Seltzer’s Steakhouse opened in St. Petersburg, FL and New Port Richey, FL with the same commitment to excellence he, his father and his grandfather all valued.  Personalized customer service, outstanding quality and incomparable value are the hallmark of the Seltzer name and continue to shine through the generations to come.
